We had a delightful brunch here today! The waiting area with children's books made it very kid-friendly and I loved the details in the overall design. I also devoured the Brie French toast! We will return; it was worth the 45 minute wait.
This place is great. I went with some coworkers before work. We received great service and food. The waiter was so kind and patient. This was our first visit and we had a lot of questions about the menu. He was so helpful. I order The Chappy. It was so DELICIOUS! The chappy came with eggs (duck or chicken), bacon, homemade fries, and a choice between homemade bread and or salad. I ordered my eggs scrambled and they were soft. I tried their homemade hot sauce with my eggs. If you like hot sauce. You should try it. It's very hot ( warning) ghost pepper is in the hot sauce. The bacon was tasty and thick. The salad was good but I didn't care for it. The homemade bread was very good. The best part of the meal was the fries. Their fries is so crispy and I love the homemade ketchup. It's sweet and fresh. Our waiter gave us complimentary pancakes because of the event we were facilitating in Ithaca. He was so nice! I recommend Carriage House Cafe!
Went for brunch with my daughters 21 & 17. What a unique place this is. In a beautiful old Carriage barn on a semi cobblestone old road in Beautiful Ithaca. Cute tables of varying styles with eclectic wooden chairs. Service was very friendly and ready to advise newbies on what would knock our socks off. Food was delicious. Fresh tasting amazing flavors and filling. Coffees were exactly as hoped. Pricing is a tad expensive for us. The 3 of us had French toast, pancakes, and an omelette plate with 4 coffees (yes my daughter had to try 2) was $75. So to do all the time it would be a no for us but for a morning on vacation for us outsiders as a luxury it's a definite must. If I had the means I would be a regular for sure!
I was visiting Ithaca for the first time to attend a wedding of one of my former roommates. She recommended Carriage House Cafe so I decided to try it out. There was some street parking nearby and we were lucky to find a spot; parking is also free on the weekends. The restaurant is in fact a house, and a quaint one at that! Lots of old decor, stones, and antique appliances. Service was okay, though they weren't particularly good about refilling waters. The menu is not that extensive, but we tried several items. I enjoyed the sconewich because I love scones and have never had it in sandwich form before! Prices were fair. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch here, especially the atmosphere. P.S. This is advertised on paper signs and on your check, but a service fee of 18% is included with all bills regardless of party size, and it explicitly says that a gratuity is not expected above and beyond this amount (unless you feel that phenomenal service warrants it I suppose).
Awesome time. Went to see my brother for his graduation and hung out at this gem just off Cornell's campus. Local beers; cabin low key vibe, and amazing food! If I'm around the area will definitely go back.
